AG: Whole Foods, Fresh Direct, and Local Markets

AG: Love it!

ITF: What is the single most important thing on your mind when you are shopping for food?

AG: I think about what foods are going to make me feel good when I eat them.

ITF: How often do you shop?

AG: Myself, 31 and my husband, 35

ITF: What is your weekly food budget?

AG: My budget is $150 for groceries.

ITF: How many times a week do you eat out? (based on 21 meals/week)

AG: 1 – 2 times a week.

ITF: How do you plan your weekly meals? Create a spreadsheet of fly by the seat of your pants?

AG: There is definitely no spreadsheet for me. I am more of the creative meal planner. To me, cooking and making meals is fun and innovative. I take the risk of messing things up but learning along the way.

ITF: What is the most coveted food in the fridge right now for each member of the household? Why?

AG: Mine is Kale. I love the way it tastes and I know it’s so good for me!

ITF: Do you believe in leftovers?

AG: Yes. I was raised with the mentality never waste food.

ITF: What convenience product can you not live without?

AG: Peanut butter. It’s healthy and filling.

ITF: What cooking utensil/piece of equipment/appliance do you live for?

The dehydrator. I love Kale chips, apple chips, etc.

ITF: How have your cooking/shopping habits changed over the last 10 years?

I use to be more reliant on eating out and picking up food. Over the past 10 years, I have grown a love and passion for eating at home and preparing my own food. I love cooking and preparing food.

ITF: If one person could cook for you tonight, who would it be?

AG: My husband. He puts so much love into his food.

ITF: What words of wisdom or advice do you have for other folks who are doing their best every day to fill the fridge?

AG: Pack it with as many fruits and veggies as you can. Be open and willing to try new ways of doing things. Look up recipes on YouTube.

ITF: What are you working on these days that you’d like to tell us about?

AG: Juicing. I find when I drink more juice, I have more energy. My favorite is carrot, apple, celery, ginger, lemon.

Thanks Anna!

I’m also working on more juicing so it’s great to hear the benefits from someone else as well to motivate me!
