Why I believe in the ChopChop Kids Mission

ChopChopKids is an innovative non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire and teach kids to cook real food with their families. They believe that cooking and eating together as a family is a vital step in resolving the obesity and hunger epidemics. ChopChop Magazine reaches more than 2 million families each year and is endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics, was named publication of the year by the James Beard Foundation, and is a two-time winner of the Parent’s Choice Award.

I’ve had a crush on ChopChop Magazine since it’s inception. What a brilliant concept–a hands on, colorful, healthy cooking magazine devoted to KIDS. Since becoming a culinary nutritionist nearly 20 years ago, my passion has always been to steer kids into the kitchen–and then keep them there. It’s a place full of imagination, creativity, science, math, flavor and most of all, fun. I love seeing kids naturally develop a sense of confidence and pride when creating in the kitchen. I’ve seen kids overcome fears of food, complete something from start to finish, improve manners and practice food and kitchen safety-all without missing a beat-after spending a few afternoons in the kitchen.

ChopChop Magazine has been my go-to birthday gift for boys and girls as well as holiday, thank you and ” just because” gifts, too. It’s also a great item to donate to kids schools, libraries or to silent auctions.

Be sure to check out the ChopChop Cooking Club – their national healthy cooking campaign to invite every family to join and pledge to cook dinner together once a month for 6 months.

Why I believe in Cabot Creamery

Cabot Creamery and I have been friends for a long, long time. Not only have I proudly been able to call them a client in the past, they’ve been a huge supporter of many endeavors, including our first Blog Brulee. They even inspired me to run my first-and only-5K. Today, as a member of the Cabot Cheese Board, I get extremely excited when the shipment of cheese arrives as my door. You see, the product itself is a superior one, and one that I routinely recommend as ingredients in my recipes.

If that’s not enough, the company-a co-op of 1,200 dairy farmers and their families-works tirelessly to provide the highest quality dairy products because they receive 100% of the profits. They value-and practice- community, quality, democracy and local ownership.

“Your purchase means the world to our future”

And I believe it.

When Cabot Creamery  partnered with Chop Chop Magazine, it was a marriage made in culinary heaven.

So now, I want you to experience these two awesome brands–so enter now to win!

My kids love to help me bake cookies, might be because they like eating the dough off the utensils! Both my boys also like helping me make pizza, we do it at least once a week. They get to put whatever toppings they wish on their pies and sometimes we make faces out of veggies.

My 18 month old loves to help by retrieving bowls and other supplies for cooking! Soon enough she will be able to stir and help in other ways!

Our kids love to make their own individual pizzas. They also like to eat the ingredients, especially when we make cookies.
