28 Oct siggi's Marbled Pumpkin Cheesecake
Blog Brulee co-founder Gretchen Brown’s tribute to Siggi-this gorgeous marbled pumpkin cheesecake made with siggi’s yogurt
[Disclosure: As co-founder of Blog Brûlée I was compensated by siggi’s for their sponsorship of the event. I was not, however, compensated or asked to write this post. Opinions expressed are my own and photography and recipe created by fellow co-founder, Gretchen Brown.]
Regan Jones, Siggi Hilmarsson and me at Blog Brulee 2015.
Despite the look on his face, Siggi was thrilled to be posing with us.
To say that Siggi Hilmarsson is larger than life is an understatement.
At the 2015 Blog Brulee, we had the pleasure of welcoming Siggi into our fold. He and his company, siggi’s, were the presenting sponsors of the event and for that, we are filled with gratitude.
Not only did Siggi and his registered dietitian nutritionist side-kick Abi Kinnear provide us with delicious Icelandic skyr yogurt throughout the weekend,
and put us through the paces of making homemade yogurt,
Siggi himself regaled us with his personal story of how and why his his yogurt came to be. He told the story of how he built this company from the ground up, taking special care to reference his mother as one of his greatest inspirations. He was generous, hilarious and humble as he laid it out there for all of us to see.
He spoke to the entrepreneur in all of us when he said the following:
“If you love what you do, you get less afraid of failure”
-Siggi Hilmarsson
Here’s to you, Siggi and team–living the dream, one spoonful of siggi’s at at time. Thank you for sharing your story.
