31 Aug 5 Things You Need to Know About Blog Brulee 2015
[Disclosure: Blog Brûlée is being partially funded by the generosity of brands mentioned in this post. I was not compensated to write this post. All opinions expressed are my own.]
On any given day, there are about 1.7 million (according to Google) “5 Things You Need to Know Lists” lists floating throughout the interwebs. A quick search on Google for “5 Things you need to know” elicited these findings:
5 things you need to know about…
- hard cider in Michigan
- college admission
- chorizo
- statistics quantification in ethnographic research (Wha???!!)
- Iggy Azela
- coffee-the wonder beverage
As someone who often reads lists containing numerical values (i.e. 3 things to do when XX; 10 items you need to XX; 8 reasons to do XX), it was quite obvious that a critical list was missing.
5 Things You Need to Know about Blog Brulee 2015
True, only one of three other people (Regan, Deanna or Gretchen) would have had an interest/inkling to writing such a list.
As a co-founder of Blog Brulee, an invitation-only, exciting, experiential weekend shared among a small, intimate number of healthy food bloggers and Registered Dietitian bloggers, I’m excited, proud and humbled to present the Top 5 Things You Need to Know About Blog Brulee 2015. (happening in 2 short weeks in beautiful Vermont!)
#1. Positive outcomes are inevitable.
Lifelong relationships will develop. Career decisions will be made. Risks will be taken. And likely, tears will be shed. We are ALL in for some incredible outcomes. Take a look at the recap Regan posted about the achievements our 2014 alumni reached over the last twelve months.
#2. Knowledge will be shared and confidence will be boosted.
We are dedicated to bringing not only the best in the business to share their knowledge, but also to bring those who freely and willingly share their information–including their mistakes, hard knocks and “wow, I wish I would have done it this way instead” insight. As a result, our attendees exhale, look around and realize that everyone here puts their pants on the exact same way-one leg at a time. Everyone stumbles, everyone falls and sometimes, we take a break completely. The tools will be there whenever our attendees are ready.
#3. There will be S’Mores.
We started this journey with a real commitment to providing a comfortable, intimate and relaxed setting that promotes thought sharing, goal and dream support and personal insight. We needed a warm blanket that made our attendees feel cozy and safe in the space. We found it with S’mores.
4. The ones that are helping to make this happen are nutrition focused, dietitian/healthy blogger supportive sponsors.
Integrity. Science. Great taste. Products we believe in. Nothing more needs to be said–except thank you.

5. A community will be built.
Throughout the last twelve months, we’ve continued the conversations we started in 2014. I’d venture to say thousands of texts, Facebook group posts and emails have been shared as our businesses have evolved. Some face-to-face reunions have occurred across the country, too. I’ve been lucky to be a part of a few of them.
Here’s what I’ve seen since September of last year:
Moral support delivered
Recipes shared
Business acumen improved
Photography skills escalated
Notoriety achieved
Cookbooks published
Our 2015 attendees will have the same opportunity and Regan, Deanna, Gretchen and I are committed to fostering this community for as long as we are able. Thank you for the opportunity!

Posted at 16:03h, 08 SeptemberYes, yes, yes!!! I can’t say enough good things about my experience at Blog Brulee last year (except word of caution, dramamine for the van ride there! 😉 ). It has helped me tremendously and I’m thankful for the amazing group of women that have helped and inspired me this past year as a result. I only wish I could attend again!
